singing in the rain

it has been bloody pouring here like nobody´s business. that means the kids stay inside and go crazy, we stay inside and go crazy, even the horses stay stalled and insane. but, no worries. Cadiz was magnificantly crazy. the biggest outdoor concert-festival-street party you´ve ever seen only EVERYONE is in costume. I saw tetris blocks and bugs and star wars characters and the guys from a clockwork orange and we were romans and ran in to loads of other romans and froze our butts off, since laura & I were showing some leg. we looked super cute though, and the bus dropped us off at 9 pm and picked us up at 7 am. a wild, wild night. lots of men dressed as women too. and broken drink bottles in the street, and people peeing in public, and the most crowded burger king I´ve ever seen since it was the only heated place open late. we ended up with some spanish kids in a car park hiding from the wind, but I was too tired and dazed to even communicate, just saying, bueno, si, si, and then michael and the mechanic costumed guy had a good laugh at me and mike translated a bit. and i met a girl from uw in the toilet line, and tons of other americans, but no aussies. so the point for first one to find an oz went unrewarded. yesterday mike, me, laura, and mikes mom went to Seville for the day to do some shopping, and had the best drive back getting lost, and wound up in the most adorable town trying to find our way back to marchena so we could then get to puebla. I¨ll really miss this town when I leave sunday... there are already people who say hello to me in the street, and caralina asks if we´re coming in to get coffee at her shop, and the kids are great, and aerobics class is wonderful. my legs are looking sooooooooooo nice from going almost every night. laura and mike are working on getting their work visas organized so that they can stay here for a year or two or forever, I almost wish that´s what I was doing too.. but not quite. I booked a ticket from trapani to rome today for the 25th of march, so I¨ll have a whole month in Sicily to explore and work. Plus, I found a host for Barcelona, so as long as I get on my proper bus Sunday afteroon, I¨m set to go for four days there! Couchsurfing da domb. seriously. Nothing too much is new, I¨m trying to keep up with school which is surprisingly hard when you get going on the everyday life part, and hopefully I¨ll have my contract for next quarter, and the work and eval for this one, done by the end of the week. or nearly done. I finally bought a zip drive, so that helps, since my computer is kaput, and... yes, yes yes. sunshine picked up for a moment. it´s beautiful. love and kisses
