What brenna and I have been up to?
Everything amazing. After leaving BKK, we got into the Jolly Frog backpackers inn, a lovely little place with tons of travelers, right on the river with chairs and hammocks for lounging. The next day, we rented motocycles, and managed to get to Erawan Falls, climbing to the seventh level, and taking pictures with Thai boys. we're kinda like rock stars here. Then, we took a day tour for relatively cheap, riding "Capitan! Elephant KING!" which was amazing. I adore elephants. and then a little bamboo raft down the river, where we swam for most of the way, with our two friends from the tour, these older british guys (one who was just constantly looking for Chang! dahling, can I get a Chang there?). Totally hysterical. We went and saw Hellfire Pass, and a small but very neat museum about the japan/thai WW2 railway etc., then on to another small waterfall that was basically like a public swimming pool, a small cave with a buddha statue and section of the old railway, where we took the public train for a little while, and then stopped at the bridge over the river before getting dropped off at our place. That night, we stopped at a few of the local bars, basically on the opposite side of the road as the gusthouses, and met the lady who helped us find the Jolly Frog when we got here... fun, fun. The next morning we spent eating fresh fruit and reading romance novels, before renting a bike to get to the tiger temple- unfortunately, we didn't have the right clothes and Brenna also realized she didn't have enough cash, so we couldn't get in. We just spent time riding the motorcyle through the countryside, which is beautiful, and then we went to the bridge market area and also the night market. Today, our plan is to check out, go to tiger temple, come back adn take a bus to BKK by 3, and then take an over night bus to Krabi. We talked to a girl last night, very friendly English gal whose been here a few times but is just getting to the north, who said that Ko Phi Phi the island is really nice, and you can get cheap bungalows on the beach, so our plan is to hit Krabi, on the mainland, Ko Phi Phi (island )for a few days, do some snorkling, then stop by Phuket before returning to Bangkok early on the sixth. Hopefully the buses work with us today!
