the beaches are amazing. so, B& I went to tiger temple, where we got to pet the cubs being walked around, and take pictures with the big ones too, which was pretty neat, even though they were all sleepy and chained up. I suppose you can only get so far away from the zoo, but it was still great. Then, we made it back in time to take the longest bus ever back to BKK, which made us nervous becuase the guide book has the last bus (overnight) to Krabi leaving around 7 and we got there at 6:45, but got a bus ticket for 8:40, no sweat. and time for dinner. 14 hours later, we arrived in Krabi town, jumped on a sawthaew (like a taxi but with more people so cheaper, we're getting smart) and got dropped off in area with lots of resturants, shopping, near the pier, and we hoped, guest houses. After a pretty excellent lunch, I asked the guy (owner?) where there were guesthouses, and he and another customer pointed us towards some, and we ended up stopping by 'Album house' with this cool reggae looking dude, and asking about prices. his reply? how much can you pay? It's these things that make you notice it's the low season, so we got a two person room for 150 or 200 baht, not sure which.. super cheap. I took a quick shower, and we looked up what beach we wanted to see, and decided on Rei Li, which our friendly rasta man told us we could take a sawthaew to Ao Nang, the other big beach, and a boat from there, which we did, and was totatally worth the boat ride to get a more secluded and beautiful beach. The water is like a salty bath tub, and it's just lovely sand and limestone cliffs. quite stunnning. We stayed there for the afternoon, took the boat back to Ao Nang for some food and shopping, and now are back in Krabi town to explore a little this evening. Tomorrow, we plan to take a boat in the morning to Ku Phi Phi, the main island in the group of Phi Phi islands, get a little place on the beach for a few nights, and maybe do some snorkling.. fun, fun! it's nice to be hot, but FINALLY be able to get wet after. Hallelujiah. Also, b&I have taken to finding new "boyfriends" aka cute boys walking around in pairs by them selves, male equivelants of us, and taking pictures of them.. and then dumping them when we never see them again and finding new ones. I think today we might have got caught.. come on dutchland boys!
